How to Estimate Your Campus Carbon Footprint in 3 Steps

Follow these steps to get results in under a minute

01
Enter campus details and energy data
Input your total campus population and monthly energy figures — electricity in kWh, diesel in litres, LPG in kg, and solar generation in kWh. Solar offsets the grid electricity footprint proportionally.
02
Add water, paper, and commuting data
Enter monthly water consumption in cubic metres and paper usage in A4 reams. Then input the total monthly kilometres travelled by each commuting mode: private vehicles, public buses, motorbikes, and tuk-tuks.
03
Review sustainability index and export
The tool calculates per-capita monthly CO₂ equivalent emissions and assigns a sustainability tier. Reduction opportunities are highlighted based on your top emission categories. Export a PDF for your sustainability committee or accreditation evidence package.

"We needed a quick estimate of our carbon baseline before investing in a full sustainability audit. This tool gave us a credible directional figure within minutes and helped us prioritise the diesel generator as our highest-impact area."

"The commuting breakdown was revealing. We assumed most of our footprint came from buildings, but the private vehicle data showed that staff commuting was the second largest source. That changed our green transport policy."

"The reduction opportunity section is genuinely useful. Rather than just a number, it tells you which category to focus on first. We used the output to build the business case for solar panel installation on the main building."

"We include this report in our annual sustainability disclosure to stakeholders. The per-capita CO₂ figure is a metric our board understands and tracks year over year. The PDF format integrates cleanly with our existing report templates."
